University Distinguished Achievement
Henry Long graduated in 1959, flew in the Air Force until retirement, a has had a long and successful career in real estate development.

Marni Byrum serves on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association and the President's Advisory Committee.
Patricia Caldwell is a member of the Women and Leadership in Philanthropy Council.
John Higginbotham is a strong advocate through the Hokies for Higher Education network.

Faculty Scholar of the Week
Mark Barrow, associate professor of history in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, has conducted research on the intersection between the history of natural history, wildlife conservation, and American culture.
Staff Employee of the Week
Jackie Eaves, of housekeeping, part of Facilities Services, is an area manager. She is responsible for 70 employees, and McBryde, Derring, and Whittemore Halls. Eaves served as the president of the Staff Association for Facilities Employees and was a member of the Employee Advisory Committee.
